Rethink Your Drink – What’s in Our Water Supply And Why You Need Water Filter

In an effort to optimize our environment, the things we ingest and experience daily, we cannot neglect taking a look at our water supply and investing in a quality water filter system.

PCBs– They are shown to cause cancer and negatively affect the immune, reproductive, nervous, and endocrine systems. These are chemicals that are used for industrial purposes and have been banned but still remain prevalent in our water. 

Arsenic – Acute exposure can cause GI symptoms while long-term exposure has been shown to lead to skin, lung, and bladder cancers. 

DDT – Though this insecticide was banned in the 1970s, the molecules are able to travel within the atmosphere. It has been declared a cancer risk and has been shown to cause reproductive problems and liver damage in animals.

Herbicides and pesticides – They are shown to damage kidneys, liver, thyroid, cause skin lesions. These are the things used on our food – be sure to wash your produce (I like this fruit and veggie wash– vinegar works too!) and go organic for the “Dirty Dozen”.

Pharmaceuticals, medications, birth control pills have also been found in the water supply of 46 million Americans.
