6 Suicide Attempts to 6 Figures: A Night of Mental Health

June 12, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Join us for a night of mental health discussion. Let’s talk about the hard things and how we can heal.

Registered Dietitian, Amanda Rigby, and National Manager for Healthcare Consulting, Sarah Tugender, will lead the night with a discussion about the connection between the gut (digestive system) and the brain. You will learn how we can influence feelings and onset of anxiety and depression through the foods we eat and lifestyle choices we make. Through a deeper look at one’s lifestyle and genetic blueprint, you will learn how we can assess an individual’s likelihood regarding cardiovascular, endocrine, mental, and emotional health and, in turn, utilize the prevention or remedy to offset chronic disease.

Guest speaker for the evening is Prasha Sarwate, an advocate for women looking for a STEM career (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.) Prasha is a blogger and podcaster out of Rhode Island after moving to the States from India six years ago. Prasha is open with her battle with mental health in her teenage and early adulthood and hopes that she can help women not few alone when dealing with mental health issues such as depression, imposter syndrome, and anxiety.

The event is FREE of charge in hopes that the community will come together to talk about the hard things and walk away with managable steps to take control of their health and their lives.

We look forward to seeing you there.
